Baptism by Immersion

In the Book of Romans baptism by immersion is a representation of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. When we are baptized we are ‘buried’ by being submerged in the water, and we are ‘resurrected’ when we rise up out of the water to begin our new Christian lives. Our old identity as a sinner is gone, and we rise with a new identity in Christ. As Pastor Barry has said "Baptism is an outward expression of an inward decision for Christ."

Baptism is an important way of professing our faith in Christ. Typically, adults, youth, or older children who understand the commitment of faith to Christ and wish to respond to God’s call (usually 6 yrs and up) are acceptable candidates for baptism. Pastor Barry will meet with the Baptismal candidates to determine their readiness.

Baptisms are usually held 3 times a year. Our next scheduled date is: May 11, 2013 6pm

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”  Matthew 28:19-20  (NLT)

Child Dedication:

We do not baptize children under the age of 6. We dedicate them to the Lord in a public church service where the parents and the members of the church are called upon to live exemplary lives before children, and to teach them the ways of the Lord. Typically we have two Dedications a year, once on Mother’s Day and again near Christmas. To find out more about our next date, or to register your child please go to the calendar event HERE.
