Imagine for a moment that you have been taken captive. Your captors send a ransom note. The cost is more than you can pay, more than anyone can pay – the cost is your life. There is no way to escape, no hope that you will make it out alive. It is a completely hopeless situation. The fact is that all of us have been taken captive; our captor is the devil and we are chained down by our sin. The situation is hopeless because the wages of our sin is death – the cost is your life. BUT, there is One who brings hope to the hopeless; One who can pay the ransom. That One is Jesus Christ. By His death, we have been ransomed and are free – His life for ours.
Ransomed Student Ministries exists to make God’s glory known to the ends of the earth; beginning with each student coming to a life changing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Students (6-12gr) dig into God’s Word (discipleship) so that we can be equipped to take the Good News of God’s love into our schools, workplaces and communities (evangelism). We hang out (fellowship) to build positive, encouraging, honest relationships with one another and we invest ourselves in projects, both locally and around the world for the glory of God (ministry & missions).
Each summer we join forces with students from all over the state at Summersalt for a week of high energy, student focused, Christ-centered worship where we escape our “normal” and engage God and His Word. Then we hit the road to Savannah, GA and partner with other believers to engage the darkness and share the light of Christ with Garden City’s poorest. November is time for homemade pumpkin bread; December, our Christmas production; January brings a new year; February, our Valentines Dinner and in between, concerts, worship events and other activities to bring us closer to one another and to God.
Every student is encouraged to plug into the life of the church using their spiritual gifts and God given talents in an area where they are passionate. Youth Praise Team, Drama team, Children’s ministry, Media ministry, Vacation Bible School and Missions are just a few areas where our students serve God and others.
Do you have questions? We all do, you’re in the right place.
Are you not sure what you believe, what to believe or even if you do believe? You’re not alone.
Don’t care for “religion”? We’re with you. We’re not about “religion” but about Jesus Christ – Knowing Him and making Him known.
Give us a try. You may find that this is right where you belong.
With all this activity come plenty of opportunities to serve. If you love teenagers and love seeing them grow in Christ, there is a place for you here. Whether it’s chaperoning a special event, helping with transportation, teaching a small group study or just hanging out during Sunday night fellowship, there are plenty of opportunities.
