What is our purpose?
Have you ever asked yourself what is my purpose? Why did God make me? Well I think that is something everyone questions at some point in time or another. God’s word tells us in Psalm 139:14, “... I am fearfully and wonderfully made;” and in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans and thought that I have for you; says the Lord, plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster but to give you a future and a hope.” We can see that He had not only made us exactly how He wanted to but also had a specific plan and purpose. We were made perfect in His sight; let this statement sink in. He does not make mistakes, so we were NEVER a mistake! Then to top that off! He has a plan for us which leads to peace and a good future. Now unfortunately, we sometimes make decisions or choose paths that He would of rather we wouldn’t have. God however has given us His gift of grace and we can ask for forgiveness. This always allows us to get back on track and in line with his will for our lives. Ok, so what is our purpose? Well, over my lifetime I have been brought to the simple realization that our purpose is to love our God with all our hearts, follow His will as outlined by His word and then obey it.
