​Life is not predictable. There are ups and downs along the way. Many of us want to trust God. When times are good, it can feel easier. But when times feel difficult, it is even more important to trust God. God’s unchanging character can give us a firm foundation when things feel unsteady.

​I love telling people my spiritual story. The testimony of how Christ came into my life and made me a different person is always exciting to share and easy to do. It is the story of my restored relationship with God that came to me through no effort of my own but solely through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

​I hear from people all the time who are ready to give up. They are tired. They are frustrated. They feel like they have failed their family, their congregation—and God. Any veteran church leader has experienced discouragement. In fact, some of us have been through several trying seasons. It is not a sin to get discouraged—it happens to all of us. 

​Like most churches, we have a small group of volunteers. We have members who have volunteered to work in the nursery, to clean our building, to keep the grounds mowed, to operate the sound system, to sing on the Worship team, to teach our classes, to serve on the Leadership Team, to mention but a few. Without these “volunteers” our church could not conduct her ministry.
