Depend on Who?

​Who are you depending on each day? I am discovering, as a Christian, I cannot be self-reliant. It goes against what Christianity is. When we become Christian, we have two paths we can follow. We can deny ourselves and surrender to God’s calling on our lives by having trust in Him, that He is the Master planner of our life.

We all need to depend on God, it is important! Wisely, we claim Christianity but spend our lives trying to control and, in the meantime, miss the blessings and peace we receive when we surrender to and depend on God, who created us. Here is a little nugget of wisdom: we all have a need for Jesus. We have a longing deep within that can only be filled by Him. All other things are likened to square pegs that do not fit this circle-God hole. The truth of the matter is, we will spend our lives trying to make the peg fit, and it will not until we become dependent on God.

A critical point not to miss is self-reliance will not get us to Heaven. We can try and be the best person we can be, but God demands perfection. Since we live in a fallen world, the only way to experience eternal life is through someone named Jesus. Our Savior took all the wrong things that we have done and died on the cross to pay for our punishment. When God looks at us, He sees perfection now because of Jesus!
