Looking Forward!

​My question for you is how do you feel about 2025? Here it is, right on the cusp of a New Year and I have noticed that as we enter a New Year, we tend to have different feelings.

Some of you, as we are entering into 2025, are excited about this next year because this is the year you are going to get married. The date’s already set. This is the year you are going to have a baby. You already know when it is going to happen. This is the year when you are going to retire. There is something. This is the year your kids are going to leave home. There is something out there that you are excited about this year.

Some of you are a little nervous about this year and what is happening and what is ahead of you. There are things that you know that you are going to have to face that you do not want to face.

But most of us are not excited, we are not nervous. Most of us are just… you know what the most common reaction I hear when we talk about this is the New Year? The most common reaction is “It is here already? Is it already another New Year?” And suddenly, it is 2025. It cracks me up that we always act surprised that it is a New Year. Like we have not been counting down for twelve months. Then suddenly, we are in this New Year. 

But God says here is what you can look forward to. You can look forward not to better circumstances necessarily, but you can look forward to a better you. You can look forward to the growth that I want to work in your life. You can look forward to a stronger relationship with Me. You can look forward to what I want to do in your daily life in your faith, hope, and love. You can look forward to growth in character and wisdom. You can look forward to what I want to do.
