This coming Sunday we are going to learn what should be the most important thing in our lives. As we discovered last week, LOVE, is the most important thing in our lives. The Bible says in Matthew 22:36-39 in the Living Bible, “Which is the most important command?” Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. ‘This is the first and greatest commandment. The second most important is similar: ‘Love your neighbor as much as you love yourself.’” Last Sunday we learned five things about love. We love because God loves us. We also learned that love is a choice, an action, a skill, and a habit. We will learn how to make love a habit. We should learn how to grow in love through our relationships. An essential key for life to be effective is focus. Effort without focus is not effective. It is also essential what we place our focus on for an effective life. Jesus says that our focus should be on loving God and others in our relationships, according to the Scripture above.
Love is an action. Love means taking time. Love means making somebody else’s agenda, my agenda! The best time to love is now. Not tomorrow. Not later. Not someday. Not one of these days. Not when I get around to it. Not soon. Now! Whatever you intend to do with your life, do it now. If you have an opportunity to show love, do it now. Make Every Day Count!
