What it Takes…

I have a question to ask. What would cause a person to leave the comforts of a Kingdom to go to a place where everything has been destroyed? Walls, buildings, gates, and nothing to work with to rebuild the city back?
Nehemiah did exactly that. He left the comforts of a place that he had made to go to Jerusalem and rebuild a broken wall and develop the city. He followed what God called him to do. No questions, he just did it!

To be a follower of Christ, one must embody servant leadership, demonstrate integrity, humility, and compassion while leading by example. This involves a deep, prayerful faith, a commitment to personal growth and the development of others, and the ability to lead with wisdom and courage.

Character traits of a follower of God:
  • Servant-heartedness: A Christian prioritizes serving others, putting their needs ahead of their own, and leads by example rather than seeking control.
  • Integrity: This involves a commitment to honesty and a life that aligns with biblical values in both private and public, building trust and moral authority.
  • Humility: A follower of Jesus, acknowledges their limitations, gives credit to others, seeks wisdom from God, and is open to correction and feedback.
  • Compassion and Empathy: Demonstrating Christ-like love and understanding is crucial for connecting with and caring for those being led.
  • Faith and Wisdom: A Christian must have an enthusiastic faith, seek God's guidance through prayer, and apply biblical truth and wisdom to make decisions.

Would you like to be like Nehemiah? Then go into the world and rebuild the world!
