In the Book of Romans, baptism by immersion is a representation of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. When we are baptized, we are ‘buried’ by being submerged in the water, and we are ‘resurrected’ when we rise out of the water to begin our new Christian lives. Our old identity as a sinner is gone, and we rise with a new identity in Christ. As Pastor Barry has said, "Baptism is an outward expression of an inward decision for Christ."
Baptism is an important way of professing our faith in Christ. Typically, adults, youth, and children over the age of five who understand the commitment of faith to Christ and wish to respond to God’s call are acceptable candidates for baptism. Pastor Barry will meet with the younger Baptismal candidates to determine their readiness. Special message Pastor Barry wrote about Baptism.

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.
And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
- Matthew 28:19-20 NLT
